I love learning new things! I love reading great books on a multitude of subjects, I love painting, and art, and gardening, and geology, and theology, and archaeology, and, and, and....The REALLY COOL thing that happens, when I take a class, or attend a book reading, or go a workshop, or attend an artist studio tour, is that I connect with others who are also on the road to expanding themselves. It's really awesome to meet like-kind folks. It's fun.
I never go into these experiences with an underlying 'motive' to expand my 'sphere'. I think it is plain "icky" (for lack of a better word) when business people get involved in non-business pusuits simply for the sake of expanding their sales reach in the community. I operate by the Golden-Rule, and if I don't like something, then other people probably do not appreciate it either, and I figure I am a pretty good demographic.
The really neat thing, is that there is a NATURAL flow of business from simply connecting with people. The folks who I meet, that connect with my style...with the authentic, learning, expanding, "ME", often times reach out in my direction when they are in need of my real estate expertise. And that is the way I like it. Natural. Organic. Easy. AUTHENTIC.
When business is grown organically out of connecting with others authentically, the outcome is a business built of 'friends'. I love that I can count the majority of my clients as 'friends'. It makes what I do every day, selling homes to and for nice folks, so much FUN!
Life is short, make sure it's FUN!
Live good. Be happy.
