Ok, sure, I buy organic whenever possible, and when I had a yard that supported it, I grew all of my own veggies. What the heck else am doing? Hmmm, think, think, think...
Then, WOW, it hit me! I have been living sustainably for as long as I can remember, more out of necessity for many years than anything else. I try to ONLY buy previously used items. My home...USED. My cars, USED. Our little refubished trailed...USED. My home furnishings...used. My clothes...used. RARELY do I buy new, and even then...I try to NEVER shop retail.
Having a teenager, occassionally I have to escort her to the mall. (EEK!) While there, I see so much STUFF! Racks upon racks of clothes, piles and piles of trendy 'stuff'. I wonder to myself, where does it all go? Who buys all of this stuff? Why in the world do we need so much?!!!
Well, we don't. I know I don't...and I simply don't "buy-in" to mass consumerism.
Here's to livin' green.
Live good. Be happy. Live LIGHT on the planet.
